Adesua Etomi is an award winning Nigerian Actress. She came into limelight in the 2014 Desmond Elliot’s film, Knocking on Heaven’s Door. In 2016, she won the award for Best Actress in a Lead Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in Niyi Akinmolayan’s Falling. In the same year, she starred in the highest grossing Nigerian film at the time, The Wedding Party.
Born Adesua Tolulope Oluwaseun Etomi om February 22, 1988, in Owerri, Imo State. She is the youngest of three siblings. Her father is of Esan descent (Edo State) and her mother is Yoruba. She attended Corona School in Lagos for her primary education and went on to Queens College, Lagos before relocating to the United Kingdom. Adesua holds a diploma in Physical Theatre, Musical Theatre and Performing Arts from City College, Conventry, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama and performance from the University of Wolverhampton.
Upon her return to Nigeria in 2012, Adesua went on to perform on stage in “Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives”, “Saro”, “Anatomy of A Woman”, “Shattered”, “Crystal Slippers”, “London Life”, “Lagos Living”, “Make We Waka”.
Having starred in the short films “The Call” (2013) and “Brave” (2014), Adesua made her big screen debut in “Knocking on Heaven’s Door”, followed by “Out of Luck” (2015), “A Soldier’s Story” (2015), “Falling” (2015), “Couple of Days” (2016), “The Arbitration” (2016), “Ayamma” (2016), “The Wedding Party” (2016), “10 Days in Sun City” (2017), “In Line” (2017) and “The Wedding Party 2” (2017). She also owns her Television credits in: “Gidi-Up” (Season 2), “Las Gidi Cops” (2015), “Shuga” (Season 4) and “Shuga: Down South”.
