Iretiola Doyle is a Nigerian Actress, Screenwriter and Television producer. In 2007 and 2008, she received Best Supporting Actress nominations at Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role in Izu Ojukwu’s films, “Across the Niger” (2004) and “Sitanda” (2006). In 2008, she began starring in Africa’s biggest soap, “Tinsel”. In 2016, she starred in the highest grossing Nigeria film at the time, “The Wedding Party”.
Born Iretiola Olusola Ayinke on May 3, 1967, in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. She is the second of three children; an older sister and a younger brother. At the age of two, she moved with her parents to Boston, New York. Upon her return, she attended Christ School and Apostolic Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti. She holds a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Jos.
Iretiola Doyle is a well grounded and all round Actress. Her career spans over two decades, cutting across Television, Stage and Film. She screenplayed Amaka Igwe’s “Tempest”. Her film credit includes: Izu Ojukwu’s “Across the Niger” (2004) and “Sitanda” (2006), Moses Inwang’s “Torn” (2013), Biyi Bandele and Tope Oshin’s “Fifty” (2015), Niyi Akinmolayan’s “The Arbitration” (2016), Jay Franklin Jituboh’s “Dinner” (2016), Kemi Adetiba’s “The Wedding Party” (2016), and its sequel, “The Wedding Party 2” (2017), Yemi Morafa’s “Something Wicked” (2017). Ireti Doyle stars in Patrick Doyle and Stanlee Ohikhuare’s film, “Madam President”. On Television, Iretiola starred in Amaka Igwe’s sitcom, “Fuji House of Commotion”, Jade Osiberu’s “Gidi-Up”, Victor Sanchez Aghaowa’s “Dowry”, Mnet “Tinsel” and “Fifty: The series”, a spin-off of the 2015 film, “Fifty”.
Iretiola Doyle has also shown her versatility on stage. She performed in Ifeoma Fafunwa’s “Hear Word”, the Nigerian version of “The Vagina Monologues”, also directed by Ifeoma Fafunwa, “Olurombi: The Musical” by Aboriginal productions, and “The Wives”.
Iretiola is married to Actor and Director, Patrick Doyle. In 2017, the couple made headlines when news broke of their alleged separation. Together they have six but five surviving children
