Ayo Makun is a Nigerian comedian, actor, screenwriter, producer and director. He was born Ayodeji Richard Makun on 19th August, 1971. A native of Ifon, Ondo State and the first of seven children, Makun was born and raised in Warri, Delta State. He attended the Delta State University, Abraka where he holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Theatre Art. Popularly known as A.Y, Makun came to prominence as the host of ‘’The A.Y Live’’ shows, and ‘’A.Y Comedy Skits’’. Makun is known for ‘’A.Y’’s Crib’’ (Sitcom, 2013-present), ‘’Being Mrs. Elliot’’ (2014), ‘’30 Days in Atlanta’’ (2014), ‘’A Trip to Jamaica’’ (2016), ‘’The Wedding Party’’ (2016), ‘’Stalker’’ (2016), ‘’Lodgers’’ (Short film, 2016), ‘’American Driver’’ (2017), ‘’10 Days in Sun City’’ (2017), and ‘’The Accidental Spy’’ (2017).
Makun is married to Mabel Makun (m. 2008). He has a daughter, Michelle (b. February 1, 2008). Makun is the older brother of renowned fashion designer, Omoniyi ‘Yomi Casual’ Makun, and events planner and manager, Lanre Makun.
