Ufuoma McDermott is a Nigerian Film, Television and Stage Actress. She came into limelight in Zeb Ejiro’s 2004 film, “The President Must Not Die” and gained wide recognition as Lilian Wright in the TV series “My Mum and I”, for which she received a Best Actress nomination at the 2010 Golden Nymph Award of the Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco. In 2011, Ufuoma received a nomination as Best Actress in a TV series at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards, and in 2016, she received a Best Big Screen Actress nomination at the Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY) Awards.

Born Ufuoma Stacey Ejenobor on 23rd of April, 1981, in Benin City, Edo State. Ufuoma McDermott hails from Delta State. She began her primary education at Alama Private School in Jos, Plateau State before moving to Tunwase Nursery and Primary School Ikeja, Lagos and finally, Molly International Nursery and Primary School Ajao Estate, Lagos. Ufuoma attended Federal Government College Odogbolu, Ogun State for her secondary education and holds a degree in French from the University of Lagos. In 2011, Ufuoma took an acting course at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, and a Filmmaking course at Dov Simen’s Hollywood Film Institute. In 2013, she received from London Business School, a certificate in Human Resources Management. In 2015, Ufuoma was among the beneficiaries of the filmmaking training program under the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) scholarship arrangements in partnership with Relativity School, Los Angeles.
