Kate Henshaw is a Nigerian Actress. She came into prominence her breakthrough performance in the 1993 film, “When the Sun Sets”. In 1996, she starred alongside Ann Njemanze and Sandra Achums in “Domitilla”. In the late 90’s, Kate Henshaw took a break from acting and returned in early 2000 with a supporting role in “Juliet Must Die”. In 2007, she starred as Eringa in the film “Stronger Than Pain”. For her role as Eringa, Kate Henshaw won the Award for Best Actress at the 2008 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Born in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, Kate Henshaw went to schools (primary and secondary) in Lagos and Calabar. She proceeded to the University of Calabar and left after a year. She then enrolled at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) School of Medical Lab Science, majoring in Medical Microbiology. Prior to her acting career, Kate Henshaw worked at the Bauchi State General Hospital.
Following her breakthrough debut in 1993, Kate Henshaw has become one of Nollywood’s leading screen queens. In 2017, she starred in Blessing Egbe’s “The Women” and Kunle Afolayan’s “Roti”. She starred in Tope Oshin’s 2018 film, “New Money”.
From 2005 to 2006, Kate Henshaw starred in Television series, “Doctors Quarters”. In 2015, she began starring in Africa Magic’s sitcom, “Do Good”.
In 2008, she performed in the stage play, “Warlock”. In 2014 and 2015, she performed on stage in “The Wives” and “London Life, Lagos Living” by The Make It Happen Productions
In 1999, Kate Henshaw married Roderick Nuttall, a Briton. They have a daughter; Gabrielle Nuttall. The couple separated in 2011 and have both moved on with their lives. Kate is one of the brand ambassadors for Globacom, a Nigerian Telecommunication company and Onga seasoning.
