Ama K. Abrese is an award winning International Film Actress and Producer, known for her roles in “Sinking Sands” (2010), “Beast of no Nation” and “Lotanna” (2017). In 2011, she won Best Actress in Leading Role at the 7th Africa Movie Academy Awards, for her role in “Sinking Sands”, and in 2016, she won Golden Supporting Actress in Drama at the 2nd Golden Movie Awards for her role in “The Cursed Ones”. Born Ama Konadu Abebrese on May 3, 1980 in Kumasi, Ghana, Ama K. Abebrese, also known as Ama K was raised in West London, United Kingdom. She attended Burlington Danes Academy in West London for her secondary education, before proceeding to William Morris Sixth Form in Hammersmith, West London. She holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Media Arts and Drama from St Mary’s University, Twickenham, south west London.

Ama K made her acting debut with a cameo role in “London Get Problem” (2006). Following her debut, Ama K has established herself as a leading actress. Her film credits includes: “Elmina” (2010), “Sinking Sands” (2010), “Ties That Bind” (2011), “Praising the Lord: Plus One” (2013), “Beasts of no Nation” (2015), “Interception” (2015), “The Cursed Ones” (2015), “Sink or Swim: The Perilous Journey” (2016), “Lotanna” (2017). In 2014, she co-produced “Double-Cross” with D.R. Kufour.

Ama K is a Brand Ambassador for Dark and Lovely Haircare products. She is the founder of “I Love My Natural Skintone. Say No to Skin Bleaching”, a campaign directed at women to embrace their natural skintone. Ama K is also a Child Safety Icon for the charity organization, SafeChild Ghana.
