Bimbo Akintola is a Nigerian Film, Television and Stage Actress. She came into limelight in the 1995 Yoruba blockbuster film, “Owoblow” and gained wide recognition in the critically acclaimed 1997 film, “Out of Bounds”. In 2012, she starred in Dimeji Ajibola’s musical thriller, “Hoodrush”. In 2016, Bimbo Akintola starred in Steve Gukas film, “93 Days”. In 2017, she received Best Actress nominations at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award and the Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role as Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh in “93 Days”.
Born in her hometown of Ibadan, Oyo State, on May 5, 1970, Bimbo Akintola is the third child of a family of six. She attended Maryland Convent Private School, Maryland, Lagos, and Command Secondary School, Lagos, for her primary and secondary education. She proceeded to the University of Ibadan and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts.
Bimbo Akintola’s has gained recognition in English and Yoruba sector of Nollywood, and her acting career cuts across Film, Television and Stage. She made her debut in “Owoblow” (1995), followed by “Out of Bounds” (1997) which established her as a household name.
