Pearl Thusi (born. May 13, 1988) is a South African actress known for ‘’The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’’ (TV series, 2009), ‘’Tremors 5: Bloodlines’’ (2015), ‘’Quantico’’ (TV series, 2016-2017), and ‘’Catching Feelings’’ (2017).
Born Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa, Thusi began her career contesting at beauty pageants in her township of KwaNdegenzi, KwaZulu-Natal. She placed 2nd at the Miss Teen South Africa competition and won the Miss KZN crown in 2005.
Thusi is also notable for her role as ‘Palesa Motaung’ in ‘’Isidingo’’ (TV series), ‘Nandi’ in ‘’Einfach Rosa: Wolken über Kapstadt’’ (2015), as ‘Brenda Riviera’ in ‘’Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Mahlangu’’ (2016), as ‘Tala’ in ‘’The Scorpion King: Book of Souls” (2018), and as ‘Makeda’ in ‘’The Blue Mauritius’’ (2019).
Thusi is the co-host of ‘’Lip Sync Battle Africa’’ (2016-2017). As a model, Thusi has graced the front pages of South African magazines like ‘’Elle’’, ‘’Cosmopolitan’’, ‘’iMag’’, ‘’Grazia’’, ‘’True Love’’, and ‘’Dossier’’, and ‘’Blaque’’.
Thusi has a daughter, Thandowelthu Mokoena from her relationship with sports personality, Walter Mokoena.
